For most people this choice is made by their phone. Apple Watch works only with iPhone. Galaxy Watch7 works with Android phones, and some health features need a Samsung phone. If your phone allows both, here is how they compare.

Design and comfort
Series 10 is Apple’s thinnest watch, with a larger, brighter display that is easier to read at an angle. Galaxy Watch7 has a round face that looks more like a traditional watch. Both have a huge choice of straps.
Health and fitness
Both track heart rate, sleep and workouts well and can take an ECG. Apple adds sleep apnoea notifications; Samsung’s BioActive sensor offers body composition readings. Treat all of these as wellness trends rather than medical diagnosis.
Battery
Both are daily-charge watches for most people, especially with the always-on display enabled. If you want a week between charges, look at fitness-first watches such as Garmin instead.
